Summer Programmes

EMV continues to offer advanced students and young professionals unique opportunities to study and perform with some of the world’s most respected international artists in early music. Held during the summer at the UBC School of music, our summer programmes are known all over the world for providing world-class instruction in a staggeringly beautiful and inspiring place.

Baroque Vocal Programme – The Compleat Singer

Participation in ‘The Compleat Singer’ offers a unique opportunity to explore & experiment in all aspects of the Baroque singer’s development. This intensive course is designed for advanced-level participants such as professional singers, university, conservatory and college students (advanced amateurs may be accepted if space permits).


Baroque Dance Workshop

Historical Dance Workshops for Beginners- No experience required. This Workshop offers an introduction to historical dance technique and repertoire. Its main purpose is to offer participants experience in several different dance forms.


Harpsichord Maintenance Workshop

This is a hands-on workshop for harpsichord players and owners, focusing on practical matters, like cutting quills, and rules on regulation, maintenance, climate control, etc.
