Nolwenn Le Guern

April 17, 2023 by

She began her musical studies with the cello. After a complete curriculum, she turned to early music. She studied the viola da gamba in the class of Marianne Muller at the Higher National Conservatory for Music and Dance of Lyon (CNSMDL). In 2011 she completed a Master’s degree in interpretation with class honours with a subject dedicated to the lyra viol and the English composer Alfonso Ferrabosco II. Enthusiast by research, she dedicated her thesis to the music of the masks of court at the beginning of the XVIIth century, for which she was the prize-winner of the foundation sponsorship of the Société Générale for the year 2011-2012.

Adventurous, she works very regularly within the framework of the theatre or within the framework of the experimental concerts on sound creations mixing early music and contemporary creations.

She regularly performs in groups such as the Ensemble Celadon (Paulin Bündgen), the Ensemble Alkymia (Mariana Delgadillo), Alla Francesca (Brigitte Lesne-Pierre Hamon), Notre Dame de Paris’s vocal ensemble (Sylvain Dieudonné), Les alizés (Clémence Comte), Canticum Novum (Emmanuel Bardon) , Doulce Mémoire (Denis Raisin-Dadre), the Ensemble TM+ (contemporary music) She is brought to occur very regularly everywhere in Europe (Germany, England, Italy, Spain, Poland) but also all over the world (Canada, India, USA, South America). She records for diverse labels such as Aéon, Ricercar, Triton, Alpha Classic and is regularly invited on France Musique in the broadcast (emission, issue) ” Le matin des musiciens ” (Edouard Fouré Caul Futy) and ” l’été des festivals ” ( Arièle Butaux), “Les mardis de la musique ancienne”.
