This series offers a global perspective on historically-informed performance practices. In this era of rapid change and movement of peoples across borders, it is more important than ever to create opportunities for finding connection and inspiration in the varied and rich cultural histories of our neighbours. Based on the study of original manuscripts and historical sources, each of these concerts is designed to create a compelling soundscape and to provide an opportunity for discovery. This series has been co-curated with Kiya Tabassian, Artistic Director of Montreal’s Ensemble Constantinople.
