Become Part of EMV’s Board of Directors!

Interested in rolling up your sleeves to help one of the most active and acclaimed musical organizations in our region? The EMV board of directors is a varied and collegial group of volunteers dedicated to providing support and leadership to our professional artistic and management team. EMV is a financially robust organization, with renewed leadership, and a commitment to historically-informed performance.

We are always interested in hearing from potential new directors who wish to join us now or in the future to bring fresh perspectives, and add balance and diversity to our collective discussions. We welcome energetic, positive people with broad community connections, business experience, experience on corporate or non-profit boards, and skills relevant to non-profit governance, including fundraising, corporate or societies law, leadership, and strategic planning.

EMV is committed to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion. We encourage all applications, including those from women, racialized persons, Indigenous people, people with disabilities, persons of all sexual orientations and genders, and others who may contribute to the further diversification of ideas and approaches.

Directors serve a two-year term, meeting once a month from September to June (except in December), either online or (when conditions permit) in person at Hodson Manor (West 7th Ave and Birch) in Vancouver.

If you would relish a leadership role in stewarding and building something truly great in our community, please get in touch with the President, Johanna Shapira by emailing: staff@earlymusic.bc.ca. Please include your resume and a short note outlining what you feel you might contribute, and why taking up the challenge of helping shape EMV interests you. Qualified candidates will be added to a roster of potential members based on the evolving needs of EMV.
