Tuition & Auditing Fees

PLEASE NOTE:
All fees quoted here are in Canadian currency (check today’s exchange rate here).

APPLICATION DEADLINES: The deadline for Registrations and for Scholarship Applications is April 16, 2012. Results will be announced by Monday, May 14, 2012/ Late registrations will be considered if space permits.


Baroque Vocal Programme “The Compleat Singer”

  (Opening Event: Introduction on Monday morning, July 23, 2012)

  Notification of Acceptance: May 14, 2012

Full Participants:

The tuition fee for Full Participants in the Baroque Vocal Programme is Cdn$1,250 for two weeks (check today’s exchange rate here). Included are tickets for all Vancouver Early Music Festival performances that take place during weeks of the Baroque Vocal Programme. A non-refundable deposit of Cdn$100 is required with registration; the balance is due by Monday, July 2, 2012.

Participating Auditors:

The tuition fee for Participating Auditors in the Baroque Vocal Programme is Cdn$450 per week (check today’s exchange rate here). These Participating Auditors will take part in all aspects of the course (including coaching from faculty coach-accompanists), but will not actively participate in the masterclasses and not receive private lessons from Ellen Hargis. Included are tickets for the concerts of the Vancouver Early Music Festival that take place during the week(s) for which you have registered.

Non-Participating Auditors:

The tuition fee for Non-Participating Auditors in the Baroque Vocal Programme is Cdn$250 per week (check today’s exchange rate here). These Non-Participating Auditors will be able to attend all sessions of the course (except private lessons), without actively participating. This tuition fee include tickets for up to two concerts per week of the Vancouver Early Music Festival that take place during each of the week(s) for which you have registered.

Late registrations:

Late registrations will be accepted only if space permits.

Audition requirements:

Those who wish to register for this Programme will need to submit a resume, an audition recording, and names of two references (teachers, music directors and the like).

Baroque Instrumental Programme “The Legacy of the Baroque”

Full Participants:

The tuition fee for Full Participants in the Baroque Instrumental Programme is Cdn$1,250 for two weeks(check today’s exchange rate here). Included are tickets for all Vancouver Early Music Festival performances that take place during weeks of the Baroque Instrumental Programme. A non-refundable deposit of Cdn$100 is required with registration; the balance is due by Friday, July 13, 2012.

Non-Participating Auditors:

The tuition fee for Non-Participating Auditors in the Baroque Vocal Programme is Cdn$250 per week (check today’s exchange rate here). These Non-Participating Auditors will be able to attend all sessions of the course (except private lessons), without actively participating. This tuition fee include tickets for up to two concerts per week of the Vancouver Early Music Festival that take place during each of the week(s) for which you have registered.

Players of other/modern instruments:

Players of instruments for which no specific coaching is offered may be accepted at some of the activities of the Baroque Instrumental Programme. We may also be able to accommodate players of modern instruments, or players with little experience on period instruments. Baroque instruments from the collection of the UBC School of Music are also available; violins, violas, cellos, violas da gamba, oboes, flute, and other wind instruments. Those in need of such instruments should inquire early.

Several fine keyboard instruments from the collections of Early Music Vancouver, the UBC School of Music, and others (harpsichords, fortepiano and chamber organ) will also be available during the Programme. Please contact our office for details.

Saturday Harpsichord Maintenance & Regulation Workshop with Ton Amir

Participants:

The tuition fee for this Harpsichord Maintenance & Regulation Workshop with Ton Amir is Cdn$85 (check today’s exchange rate here) for the morning.

A reduced combined fee of Cdn$140 (check today’s exchange rate here) applies to those who also participate in the Saturday Historical Dance Workshop with Julie Andrijeski (see below).

Admission is free for participating keyboard players in the Baroque Instrumental Programme, but advanced registration is requested as enrolment will be limited. It is recommended that participants register in advance, by contacting our office.


Saturday Historical Dance Workshop for Beginners with Julie Andrijeski

The tuition fee for this Introductory Dance Workshop with Julie Andrijeski is Cdn$85 (check today’s exchange rate here) for the afternoon.

A reduced combined fee of Cdn$140 (check today’s exchange rate here) applies to those who also participate in the Harpsichord Maintenance & Regulation Workshop with Ton Amir (see above).

Admission is free for participants in the Baroque Instrumental Programme, but advanced registration is requested as enrolment will be limited. It is recommended that participants register in advance, by contacting our office.


Auditing

Non-Participating Auditors will be welcome at any activity of the Programme. These Non-Participating Auditors will be able to attend all sessions of the courses (except private lessons), without actively participating.

The daily fee is Cdn$80 for a full day, or Cdn$50 for a morning or afternoon only (check today’s exchange rate here). One-week auditing passes, including tickets for two Festival concerts, will be available for Cdn$250 (check today’s exchange rate here). Auditors need not register in advance. However, week-auditors in need of housing are advised to make their accommodation arrangements early.


In the unlikely event of unforeseen schedule changes or cancellations, Early Music Vancouver or the Vancouver Early Music Programme will not be liable for expenses incurred by participants other than tuition and accommodation fees paid.
