ACCOMMODATION

Several residences are available on campus, all within a few minutes walk to the Music Building; the options and price ranges are listed below. All bookings are subect to availability.

ALL ACCOMMODATION BOOKINGS MUST BE MADE THROUGH THE EARLY MUSIC VANCOUVER OFFICE.

Green College and St. John’s College accommodation rates include the Meal Plan;
participants not staying at either of these residences will be able to purchase the Green College Meal Plan separately.

Price Ranges for Residences

basic weekly costs per residence, ranked from low to high:

PLEASE NOTE:
Meals are included at Green College and St. John’s College: Breakfast - Mon through Fri; Dinner - Sun through Thu.
Those staying at other residences may purchase the Green College Meal Plan (see details below).

Some of these residences also offer double rooms, studio suites, and 1- or 2-bedroom suites at additional charges;
residences with family suites may also be available on campus. Please contact our office if you want to explore this.

Pacific Spirit Hostel residences

starting at Cdn $409/week for room + meals, incl taxes

Vanier Place, 1935 Lower Mall  |  map location 6

• Single or Double dorm-style rooms.
• Shared bathrooms, lounge with fridge and microwave.
• Bed linens are supplied; bring your own towels.
• Cable internet available for a fee.
• No phones in rooms, but pay phones are available in the building.
• Coin laundry in building.
• No parking available. The campus only offers pay parking; check rates here.
  Use public lots nearby, or the Fraser Parkade.

Daily room rate:
Single or Double rooms (2 twin beds), including taxes, per person: Cdn$40 (check today’s exchange rate here).

Gage residences

starting at Cdn $521/week for room + meals, incl. taxes

• Single rooms in 4- or 6-bedroom units.
• Bed linens and towels are supplied.
• Ethernet port during your Cdn$11.20 including taxes.
• No phones in rooms, but pay phones are available in the centrally located Graham House.
• Common kitchen in each unit.
• Coin laundry in the building.
• Parking for residents Cdn$7.84/day including taxes.

Weekly room rate:
Single rooms, including taxes: Cdn$392 (check today’s exchange rate here).

St. Andrew’s Hall residences

• Bed linens are supplied; bring your own towels.
• Bring your own kitchen supplies.
• Free cable internet included.

• Coin laundry in building.
• Parking available at Cdn$5.32/day incl. taxes.

Daily room rate:
Single rooms in 4-room Quads, including taxes: Cdn$64 (check today’s exchange rate here).

Carey Centre residences

School of Theology residences

starting at Cdn $794/week for room + meals, incl. taxes

• Studio suites with double bed and private bathrooms.

• TV, wi-fi and phone in each suite.
• Mini-fridge.
• Coin laundry.
• Parking on the lot in front of the Iona building for those in residence at Cdn$5.60/day, including taxes;
  space is limited.

St. John’s College residences

starting at Cdn $940/week for room + meals, incl taxes

• Single rooms with twin bed and private bathroom.
• Bed linens and towels are supplied.
• TV, phone, cable internet.
• Mini-fridge and coffee maker.
• Coin laundry, kitchen, fax and photocopier in the building.
• Pay parking: campus parking garage across the street. Check rates here.

Single rooms, including taxes: Cdn$940 (check today’s exchange rate here)

Meals: St. John’s College has its own Meal Plan, and meals are included in these rates:

Continental Breakfast		Monday through Friday, 7:30-9:30 am
Lunch		PLEASE NOTE: Lunch is not included in this plan.
Dinner		Sunday through Thursday, 6:15-7:30 pm

The options above are the residences where our faculty and participants will be accommodated. If you have special wishes or needs, there are other residences available on campus that may suit your needs better, such as the UBC Conference - Gage Towers [map location 8]. Meal Plan at Green College

Green College has an excellent dining facility, and we have arranged that all participants – including those who are not in residence at Green College – can again make use of this facility. This will also provide an opportunity to meet informally with faculty members, guest artists, and other participants. The kitchen can cater to special dietary requirements.

Included in the Green College Meal Plan:
Continental Breakfast		Monday through Friday, 7:30-9:30 am
Lunch		PLEASE NOTE: Lunch is not included in this plan.
Dinner		Sunday through Thursday, 6:15-7:30 pm

The cost for this Green College Meal Plan is Cdn$129 per week, including taxes (check today’s exchange rate here).

In the unlikely event of unforeseen schedule changes or cancellations, Early Music Vancouver or the Vancouver Early Music Programme will not be liable for expenses incurred by participants other than tuition and accommodation fees paid.
